The best present ever ...

As many of you know, Emma refused to lay on her back (while awake or asleep) and would not sleep anywhere other than in someone's arms for the first two months of her life. This meant that mom and Emma mastered the art of sleeping while sitting up. We slept in the rocker, on the couch, in bed ... we would prop ourselves up with pillows and put one of those neck pillows behind my neck and catch a few zzzs. This was awful sleep and didn't make either one of us feel refreshed. I asked everyone what I could do to get her to sleep on her own, but nothing worked until we went to the doctor (again) and bought our fourth baby bed.

After a month of trying zantac, we ended up putting Emma on prilosec and it was like we had a new baby. She finally was able to spend time playing on the floor and she began doing "baby" things. But what really made the difference in sleeping was the Fisher Price Rock and Sleep (or some name like that). It is a portable cradle where Emma sleeps at a 30 degree angle. This is the fourth baby bed that we have tried, but it was the only one that actually worked. She slept in it for over half the night the very first night. Dad, mom, Chloe, and Emma were finally able to get some sleep at night. Does anyone need a baby bed because now we have a couple extra?

Look how happy she is sleeping in her new cradle ...

This seriously was/is the best present that John could ever buy for me.

  1. This makes me so happy! That is such a big deal. I wouldn't blame you if you bought every baby bed ever invented if it led to finding the right one. Congrats on this huge milestone!
